EFFECTS OF EXTRACTION CONDITIONS ON COUMARIN CONTENTS AND ANTIOXIDANT ACTIVITIES OF Excoecaria cochinchinensis

Abstract
Coumarin indicates anticoagulant, antispasmodic, and coronary artery dilating properties, which is found in Excoecaria cochinchinensis. Therefore, the study was carried out to determine conditions for coumarin extraction from E. cochinchinensis. The parameters, including solvent type, solvent concentration, temperature and coumarin extraction time were investigated. The suitable extraction conditions were 80% methanol, the raw material/solvent ratio was 1/30 (w/v) at 70 °C for 60 minutes, the total coumarin content reached 8.55 mgCo/g
