Abstract

Like other industries, in recent years, Vietnam's livestock industry has made strong development, but many environmental problems arising from these activities. The treatment of wastewater from the livestock process is increasingly concerned. Therefore, this study aims to evaluate the treatment efficiency of the aerobic zeoreactor model in livestock wastewater treatment. Research results showed that the COD concentration and input N-NH3 were 320 ± 6 mg/L and 65 ± 2 mg/L, respectively; the amount of zeolite added in the model reached an appropriate value of 1,5 g/L. With this value, the efficiency of the treatment process with a load of 1.0 kgCOD/m3.day reached the highest value compared to two loads of 0,8 and 1,2 kgCOD/m3.day. Specifically, with a load of 1.0 kgCOD/m3.day, the COD, N-NH3, P-PO43- efficiency reached 87 ± 2, 73,8 ± 2, 70,2 ± 1%, respectively. In addition, the treatment efficiency of COD, N-NH3, P-PO43- is higher than that of the traditional aeratank model with the corresponding processing efficiency reaching 72 ± 2; 63 ± 2; 53 ± 1%. The findings will contribute to nitrogen treatment solutions, one of the issues to be noted in the current livestock wastewater treatment process.
