20. A study on the design and development of an AI-integrated online chat application

Abstract

This study presents the design and development of a compact social networking system integrated with advanced Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies, aiming to optimize user experience and ensure a safe digital environment. The system incorporates three core AI components. First, a personalized recommendation model delivers tailored content based on individual user preferences and behaviors. Second, a multimodal chatbot functions as both a virtual assistant and a creative tool, capable of generating and interacting with diverse media formats, including text, images, and audio. Third, an image recognition model is employed to automatically detect and block content that violates community standards, enhancing platform moderation and trust. The system architecture is fully containerized using Docker, facilitating efficient deployment, scalability, and cross-platform portability. The solution was developed and rigorously tested on two modern web frameworks - Laravel and FastAPI - demonstrating strong interoperability, flexibility, and performance. Experimental results indicate that the integration of AI models within a social networking context can significantly improve user engagement, platform intelligence, and operational safety. This research highlights the practical applicability of AI in building next-generation social media platforms that are more intelligent, user-centric, and resilient to content violations.
