31. Digital transformation in teaching activities at Hanoi University of Natural Resources and Environment: Current situation and solutions
Abstract
In the context of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, digital transformation has become an inevitable trend in the field of education and training. Hanoi University of Natural Resources and Environment (HUNRE) has been actively implementing digital transformation initiatives to improve the quality of teaching, research, and administrative management. The article analyzes the current state of digital transformation at HUNRE, identifying the difficulties and challenges in the process. Based on these findings, it proposes digital transformation solutions for HUNRE, including improving technological infrastructure, enhancing digital competence for lecturers, strengthening cooperation, and developing digital learning resources, adopting a learner-centered approach, establishing a phased action plan, and promoting collaboration and resource sharing. The study used a survey method to collect opinions from 50 lecturers and 100 students regarding digital transformation in teaching and learning, using the tool of survey questionnaire. Besides, the article also uses other methods during the research process, including observation, secondary data collection, data analysis, comparative analysis, and experience synthesis. The initial outcomes indicate that these efforts have had a positive impact, contributing to the modernization of the educational environment and gradually affirming the university’s position in Vietnam's higher education system.
