12. Assessing current land use in Phu Luong district, Thai Nguyen province

Abstract

This study assesses the current status of land use and land use changes in Phu Luong district, Thai Nguyen province. The research employed methods of primary and secondary data collection, comparative analysis, and data synthesis and processing. The results indicate that the total natural area of Phu Luong district is 34,979.67 hectares, of which agricultural land accounts for 84.79 %, non-agricultural land for 14.66%, and the remainder is unused land. The land use change in Phu Luong district shows a trend of gradual decrease in agricultural land area and gradual increase in non-agricultural land area. Based on these findings, the study proposes several solutions to improve land use efficiency in the forthcoming development stage within the study area.
