Abstract

This paper presents the results of completing the regional Mean Sea Surface Model and Lowest Sea Surface Model for Vietnam sea area that were established in previous research [3, 4]. Based on addition of database from 62 tidal testing stations of Center for Oceanography, Vietnam Administration of Seas and Islands, a mean sea surface model (MDTTBKV98) and a lowest sea surface model (MBTNKV170) were established. Furthermore, the differences between the mean sea surface and the lowest sea level measured at 23 tide testing stations along the coast and on some islands of Vietnam which do not participate in building models were also used to evaluate the accuracy of this method that results in ± 0.128 m the difference between MDTTBKV98 model and MBTNKV170 model. On the other hand, determining the mean sea surface and lowest sea surface at the temporary tide stations usingcontinuous sea level measurement for 30 days and nights results inthe mean error at ± 0.3 m. Therefore, it can be concluded that the MDTTBKV98 and MBTNKV170 models are established with high accuracy.
