10. Application of open source software to develop an information system of land use planning in Dong Hung district, Thai Binh province

Abstract

The announcement of land use planning and the involvement of community in monitoring the quality and progress of land use planning implementation are important to ensure the effectiveness and transparency of land use planning. Scientific and technological development may also support for the management of land use planning. This study aims to develop an information system (WebGIS) of land use planning in Dong Hung district, Thai Binh province based on open source platforms (PostgreSQL/PostGIS, MapServer, pMapper and Apache). The system will support the publication and monitoring of land use planning implementation as well as facilitate the interaction among businesses, citizens and local authorities in land use planning implementation there.
