01. Study on the application of agricultural drought index for drought forecasting and warning in Binh Thuan province

Abstract

Drought and shortages of water resources are increasing concerns in Binh Thuan province. Ensuring enough water resources for socio-economic development requires an appropriate drought mitigation and management approach. This study used agricultural drought index (Prescot) to assess drought, shortages of water resources and then build drought map for Binh Thuan province. The results of this study on drought overview and its potential occur in the province can be used as the basis for establishing a drought assessment, monitoring and warning system there.
