Abstract

Aquaculture and seafood processing activities have contributed an increasingly important role in the economic development of Da Loc commune in particular and Hau Loc district in general recently. In addition to bringing stable income, creating jobs, improving the quality of life for local people, aquaculture and seafood processing activities are becoming the main economy there. Besides socio - economic efficiency, aquaculture and seafood processing activities have caused many environmental consequences, such as the generation of wastes from excess food, annual pond dredging and sanitation, and seafood product processing to the environment. This may lead to water, soil and air pollution, degrading the environmental landscape, affecting aquaculture farms and human life there. Therefore, findings of this study contribute for sustainable aquaculture development and environmental protection in Da Loc commune.
