09. Determination of the source of air pollution in Hai Phong by moss biological indicator and multi-variable statistical method

Abstract

This paper presents the application of multivariate statistical analysis to identify pollution sources from the content of elements in moss samples in Hai Phong. A total of 39 moss samples were collected at 39 different locations in January 2020 in Hai Phong. Neutron activation analysis was used to analyze the concentrations of 36 chemical elements in the collected moss samples. The level of chemical element pollution in the air of Hai Phong has been classified and the possible pollution emission sources were identified by applying principal component analysis using SPSS software.
