Abstract
Tien Lang is a coastal district of Hai Phong city and the district is regularly affected by natural disasters, such as storms, floods and saltwater intrusion. In this research, a hydrodynamic Mike 11 model was used to calculate the saline intrusion in the Van Uc river based on sea-level rise scenarios under climate change, contributing to saltwater intrusion prediction and adaptations. The results showed that with the scenario of sea-level rise of 0.18m, the saltwater intrusion length is 48.5 km from the estuary. In the scenario of RCP8.5 in 2050, with sea-level rise of 0.35 m, the length of saltwater intrusion will be reached to 54.6 km.
