Abstract
The relationship between North Korea and Mongolia was established during the Cold War period. However, since Kim Jong-un assumed power in late 2011, major changes in the regional and global geopolitical landscape have brought both new challenges and opportunities for their bilateral relations. This article focuses on analyzing the political and diplomatic ties between the two countries over the past decade, clarifying their key achievements, persistent challenges, and prospects for future cooperation. It also examines Mongolia’s role as an intermediary amid the current volatility in the regional environment.
