Labor distribution facts in farm households (Case study of Thanh Van commune, Thanh Oai district, Hanoi city)

Abstract

     Labor division is a common trend among Vietnamese families as well as in the world. In rural families, agricultural production plays an important role and has the division of labor of family members. Gender division of labor in agricultural production is taking place strongly in Thanh Van, a suburban commune of Hanoi. Currently, women are the main labor involved in agricultural production. Besides, the aging trend in agricultural labor force is also happening in Thanh Van. This is an inevitable trend in the transition process when young people gradually leave the field and participate in non-agricultural production activities.
