Dual role and limited for women

Abstract

   Women are suffering from an unbalanced work burden compared to men. Although women are increasingly engaged in paid and informal jobs in the formal and informal labor market, women continue to be more responsible for housework than men. If both market and housework are included, women tend to work relatively longer hours than men. It can be said that women must carry on their shoulders the heavy burden in the family - both to undertake unpaid work and at the same time to take on an income-generating job. The dual burden of shoulders creates barriers for women such as limiting time for themselves, barriers to family status, barriers to employment status and wages.
