ASSESSING THE STATUS OF SOLID WASTE MANAGEMENT IN QUANG XUONG DISTRICT, THANH HOA PROVINCE

Abstract

Quang Xuong district has applied many positive measures to protect the environment. In 2017, there were 28/30 communes and towns collecting garbage. Currently applied treatment technology in the district is the technology of BD-ANPHA incinerator with the capacity of 750kg/day in Quang Tan commune and the waste incinerator using natural biogas in Quang Binh commune initially brought high efficiency in ensuring rural sanitation. However, waste collected without classification has reduced the efficiency of treatment. Therefore, it is proposed for the district to apply the waste collection and treatment model at source (3R) and the model of socializing environmental protection through the form of self-managed collection groups to contribute to improving the efficiency of waste treatment results for the locality.
