A RESEARCH ON THE GROWTH, DEVELOPMENT AND YIELD OF SEVERAL ZUCCHINI VARIETIES (CUCURBITA PEPO VAR. MELOPEPO) PLANTED IN WINTER 2018 IN THIEU TAM COMMUNE, THIEU HOA DISTRICT, THANH HOA PROVINCE

Abstract

This study was conducted to evaluate the growth and yield of three imported zucchini varieties (Cucurbita pepo var. melopepo) (Korean Squash, Bulam House, NHP 29). The experiment was carried out in Thieu Tam commune, Thieu Hoa district, Thanh Hoa province in winter season 2018. Results showed that among the tested varieties, Bulam House variety had good pest resistance and the best growth and yield. Its growth duration was 83 days, main stem length was 72,4 cm, fruit setting rate was 84,9%. Bulam House also had the highest yield, achieving 15,72 tons/ha
