REPRODUCTION PRODUCTIVITY OF HYBRID COMBINATIONS OF CROSSBRED F1 (LANDRACE X YORKSHIRE) INSEMINATED WITH DUROC, PIDU BOARS IN THANH HOA PROVINCE

Abstract

A study was carried out at Dan Quyen pig breeds joint stock Company, Dan Quyen commune, Trieu Son district, Thanh Hoa province from 5/2017 to 9/2018 in order to evaluate reproduction productivity of hybrid combinations of crossbred F1 (Landrace × Yorkshire) inseminated with Duroc, PiDu boars. The results showed that reproduction productivity  prameters of F1 (L×Y) mated with PiDu boars were higher than those of F1 (L×Y) mated with Duroc boars. Number of pigs born, weaned and weaning weight of F1(L×Y) mated with Duroc and PiDu boars were: 11.80 and 12.02 piglets; 10,79 and 10,96 piglets; 6,18 and 6,20 kg/head, respectively. Reproductive performance prameters of both hybrid combinations were lowest in the first parity, tending to increase gradually, reaching the highest in the fourth parity and decreased gradually from the fifth parity. The two hybrid combinations F1 (L×Y) mated with Duroc and PiDu boars were well developed in farm conditions in Thanh Hoa. However, using F1 (L×Y) mated with PiDu boars to improve efficiency in breeding is advisable.
