Abstract

Mindfulness is a topic that has received considerable attention in academic disciplines, but has received little attention in management science. This paper examines the impact of mindfulness on employee performance, considering the mediating roles of work engagement and job satisfaction. Data were collected from 327 employees working at enterprises in Ho Chi Minh City. Using the PLS-SEM method, all research hypotheses were accepted, in which engagement has the most substantial positive impact on employee performance. The data support the mediating role of job satisfaction and work engagement. The findings of this study reveal differences in gender, professional level, job nature, and seniority in the relationships between mindfulness, work engagement, and job performance among employees in Ho Chi Minh City. Based on the research results, several implications are suggested for managers to enhance employee job performance by developing mindfulness, work engagement, and job satisfaction.
