Factors influencing accessibility to microcredit program: The case of women union members in Thoi Lai, Can Tho

Abstract
This paper aims to analyze the factors influencing the accessibility to microcredit programs for women in Thoi Lai district, Can Tho City. Data were collected from 160 members of the Women Union at the district level, the results found that factors namely collateral values, local meeting attendance, household income, ethnicity and employment status significantly influenced women borrowers accessibility to microcredit programs. Based on the results, proposed solutions to help women improve access to microcredit include that women borrowers need to actively participate in Women Union at local to build more social capital while the local government enhances support to women borrowers.
