Abstract

This study aims to determine factors that affect on job performance with a sample size of 303 employees working at Vietnamese enterprises in Ho Chi Minh City. We utilize PLS-SEM method using SmartPLS 3.2.7 software to process data. Based on the “employee equity” theory and Person - Organization fit theory, the results show that organizational commitment affect job satisfaction and psychological contract. Moreover, the psychological contract impacts both job satisfaction and job performance while job satisfaction also affects job performance. Accordingly, job satisfaction has a more substantial impact on job performance than the psychological contract. At the enterprises, there is no statistically significant difference between male and female employees, large enterprise sizes, or SMEs in terms of job performance. This research aims to fill research gaps in job performance, and contributes to increasing the enterprise managers' understanding of job performance.
