Abstract

In this work, the characterization of kaolin-based additives for thecombustion of sugarcane bagasse-derived biomass was investigated usingthermogravimetric-derivative thermogravimetric (TG-DTG) analysis anddifferential thermal analysis (DTA). Sugarcane bagasse powder (SB) was mixedwith 2 wt.% and 4 wt.% of kaolin powder (KL) and then pressed into fuel pellets.Combustion parameters (ignition temperature Ti, burnout temperature Tb, maximumpeak temperature Tmax, ignition index Ci, burnout index Cb, comprehensivecombustibility index S, and activation energy Ea) for the pellets were evaluated.
