Abstract
In this paper, we use the statistical moment method in order to investigate the body-centered cubic (bcc) - face-centered cubic (fcc) structural phase transition of metal under pressure basing on the equilibrium condition of Gibbs thermodynamic potential. Our theoretical results are applied to consider the structural phase transition of iron in the range of pressure from zero to 11 GPa with using the Mie-Lennard-Jones pair interaction potential. Our numerical results are in good agreement with the experimental data (errors are smaller than 10%).
