Physico-geographical zoning for tourism development in Binh Dinh Province
Abstract
In order to rationally exploit natural resources, and propose the orientation of territorial planning for tourism development, physico-geographical zoning is very important. Applying the
theoretical basis of natural geographic zoning, the authors have conducted a study on the regularization of natural conditions and natural resources in Binh Dinh Province; to conduct
physico-geographical zoning in Binh Dinh territory in the 2-level hierarchy: region and subregion; clearly defining outstanding natural characteristics and typical resources of the subregions
for tourism development in Binh Dinh Province. Physico-geographical zoning for
tourism development and the zoning map (at a scale of 1: 100,000) show that Binh Dinh has 2 regions and 5 sub-regions providing basic information about the natural characteristics and tourism resources of the sub-regions. This is the basis for assessing the natural conditions and tourism resources for tourism development in Binh Dinh in general as well as organizing some specific types of tourism, particularly in the sub-region
