Researching construction solution to enhance the efficiency of generating electricity of small hydropower plant and assure the water use demand at downstream

Abstract

      In this paper, the authors proposed the construction solutions to enhance the efficiency of generating electricity of small hydropower plant in low-water discharge condition, reduce the strain on the electrical system and assure the demand of water use at downstream. This study is applied for Po Ho hydropower project in Lao Cai province. The obtained results show that the proposed construction solutions significantly increase project efficiency. This study also proposed conclusions and suggestions as references for investors to make decision on hydropower project and policy decision makers to generate the electric price and minimum runoff of multipurpose hydropower plants
