Abstract

This paper outlines the trends of the monthly mean sea level (MSL) changes along the coast of Vietnam by using the dynamical prediction method. The results show that the long-term monthly MLS along the coast of Vietnam rises about 1~3mm per years after adjustment for the effects of post-glacial rebound and the effects of air pressures for three and four decades. In particular, in the northern coastal area of Vietnam it, the monthly MSL, rises with the speed of 0.996±0.029 mm/a; in the central coastal area it rises with the speed of 2.064±0.080 mm/a; in the southeast coastal area of Vietnam it rises with the speed of 2.812±0.089 mm/a, and in the southwest coastal area it rises with the speed of 1.708± 0.076 mm/a.
