Determination of irrigation water requirement for peanut by FAO PENMAN – monteith equation and single crop coefficient method

Abstract

     The study applied the crop coefficient to determine irrigation water requirement for peanut in which FAO Penman - Monteith equation and single crop coefficient method were used to calculate reference crop evapotranspiration (ETo) and crop coefficient (Kc) for growth stages of peanut. This study used meteorological data monitored by Van Ly meteorological station and physical and chemical characteristics of soil measured in Thinh Long town, Nam Dinh to estimate irrigation water requirement for peanut cultivated in spring crop season of the area study. The researched results aim to provide references to irrigation water management for peanut. From that, recommendations are also proposed to apply this method for determination of irrigation water requirement for other cops.
