Study on proposing the method for determining the regulated volume in front of the 1st grade pumping station in the water supply system in case of intaking water from the conveying channel

Abstract

    Fresh water is one of the most basic demands of mankind necessary for our domestic life. It is becoming an urgent requirement for heath protection and living standard improvement of people, as well as for industrialization and modernization.

    However, the fresh water supply in our country basically is still at a low level, most of the fresh water supply system including urban and rural areas can not be ensured water standards for both quantity and quality; The average rate of rural population area was used fresh water only reaching 30-35%; especially a large number of people in rural areas mainly use water directly from natural sources without control.

    Nowadays, guarantee of fresh water for domestic life of rural area and for region of severe water is a hot demand; especially in areas where water resources are not guaranteed in both volume and quality (such as salinity and water pollution). In this paper the author introduce method for determining the volume of regulated basin before the 1st grade pumping station in the water supply system intaking water from conveying channel to overcome the difficulties of areas with no guarantee of water volume and quality. As characteristics of the water supply system is continuously operated through day and night, whereas irrigation system is worked due to irrigation phase. The irrigation channel is not working during the time interval between phases. The research result will provide reference material for planners to design and construct water supply system.
