This paper summaries an approach and methodology to develop an integrated water resources management decision support system which has been widely applied in the world. Based on these methods, a program to support decision-making with the Vietnamese language interface was developed. A case study of decision support system for Dakmi 4 dam construction and management was conducted. Alternatives solution and evaluation criteria were determined based on Da Nang master plan for socio-economic development and master plan for hydropower development in Vu Gia-Thu Bon river system, Quang Nam province. Dakmi 4 is a big hydropower plant of the cascade hydropower planning in the Vu Gia-Thu Bon river basin, which has a huge influence on the local people's life as well as natural envirronment in the river basin. Therefore, a comprehensive study is needed to integrate water resources management in Vu Gia-Thu Bon basin.
