Reseach on water resources allocation in the Ba River basin

Abstract

    Water is valuable natural resource, needed for all livies' activities. Together with fast development of socio-economy, water demands are increasing very fast while water resources is limited. This leads to an urgent requirement to use water suitablility and effectively. With financial analysis function, the WEAP software (Water Evaluation and Planning System) does not only allow to perform water balance analysis for a basin, but also to perporm financial assessment for each water allowcation scenario. This article summarizes results achivied from applying the WEAP software to research on water resources allocation in the Ba River Basin. The research ‘s results showed that the WEAP software is an easy but effective tool to recommend water allocation in the most effective way in the Ba River Basin in term of water sufficiency and economy.
