Study on the effect of hydroelectric reservoir system in reducing the flood at downstream Ba river

Abstract

    Every year, in Ba river basins as well as other basin in the Central of Vietnam are always affected much by diaster as heavy flooding. Since the appearance of reservoir system in the river, the flooding problem becomes more and more serious. Almost reservoir operate with the process that they filled up the lake and discharge after reaching the maximus level, then for reservoir safety it leads to the sudden discharge and causes big trouble to downstream's people. In this study we will assess the ability of flood cutting down of the reservoirs system to the downstream when operating in the process for multi-reservoir on the Ba river system approved by the Prime Minister in Decision No. 1077/QD -TTg
