Combine disaster reduction into socio-economic development in the Ha Tinh province

Abstract

    Ha Tinh is one of poverty Province, low economic starting point. GDP per capita of only 47.7% compared to the national average, the rate of poor households occupy to 38%. Climate conditions are not favorable, as the province is 137 km long coastline has the potential to develop tourism and fishing industries, but the most badly affected by natural disasters. in Ha Tinh almost every year are affected by natural disasters, particularly typhoons, floods, storm, surges, erosion and salinity and drought. To minimize the damage caused by natural disasters, improve proactive adaptation, prevent and respond to natural disasters. Ha Tinh Province has an integrated strategy of prevention requires mitigation in the plan of socio-economic development of the province. This paper introduces some integrated models of prevention and mitigation of natural disasters to economic development of Ha Tinh Province.
