Analysis of the cases of a slide of the road-weir in the irrigation system of Trang Viet village, Me Linh, Hanoi

Abstract

    Trang Viet road-weir has been damaged by a recent rise in the water level of Red River, water has overflowed onto the road-weir and has caused a slide of the dam's downstream slope. There have been a lot of challenges for the researchers who have analyzed and estimated the causes of the slide, because their work could not be done without a complete review of the whole Trang Viet construction project. Construction managers, design consultants, and construction supervisors all can learn a practical lesson from the alnalysis and evaluation of the possible causes for the weir's failure.
