Study on rainfall forecast for the Ca river basin

Abstract

     Rainfall forecast, especially quantity rainfall forecast is now still very difficult in Vietnam, but it is an urgent requirement in regulation of reservoir system for flood control in river basin level. This study presents a combination of BOLAM model (a Weather Forecast) with Identification model of weather forms causing medium and heavy rainfall to forecast rainfall for the Ca River Basin. With this combination, forecasters can give out rainfall forecast for different area in the Basin with more reliable values than using only digital weather forecast model.
