Estimating economic values of flood control

Abstract

    The increase of natural disasters and especially floods are causing economical losses to escalate. Floods impacts on economy, political, society, environment, etc. Governments of both developed and developing countries are therefore concerned with caculating flood damages as well as financial subsidies in recovery, repairing infrastructure and aiding the victims. However, governments of developing countries are ill prepared to cover the financial losses of disasters. The paper is disscussed about estimating economic values of flood control which based on demand and supply sides in market economy as well as sustainable development of environmental resources economics conditions.
