Research on applying the online irrigation Benchmarking services for evaluating efficiencies of irrigation and drainage systems
Abstract
In August, 2000 the World Bank (WB), the International Program for Technology and Research on Irrigation and Drainage (IPTRID), Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), the International Water Management Institute (IWMI) and International Commission on
Irrigation and Drainage (ICID) began an international initiative on benchmarking in the irrigation and drainage sector. In 2001 Online Irrigation Benchmarking Services (OIBS) was created to provide managers with the powerful tool for computing indicators in evaluating efficiencies of irrigation and drainage systems based on the benchmarking. This report presents results of the research on applying OIBS in Vietnam for evaluating efficiencies of irrigation and drainage systems. The objectives is to disseminate OIBS in practice and contribute to improving operation
and management efficiencies of irrigation and drainage systems in Vietnam ơnward irrigation modernization. Research contents and results consist of:
