Abstract

This study monitored treatment ability to organic pollution and ammonia through applied bio-EM (effective microorganims) to treat pollution the water at bottom and the water in mud of Penaeus Monodon ponds on acid sulfate soil at Hamlet 8, Thoi Binh commune, Thoi Binh district, Ca Mau province, from June to November in 2010. The study implemented on three ponds (the control pond: ĐC, non use EM, the M1 pond used 6 litre/time, the M2 pond used 9 litre/time; with 7 days/time; the stage of preparing pond M1, M2 used 200 littre). The results showed that, the M2 pond had the highest effective in treatment organic pollution and ammonia: the ammonia concentration in crop was always in ≤0.09 mg/L in the water at pond bottom and ≤0.13 mg/L in the water of mud; productivity was 7.2 ton/hectare/crop, survival rate was 72% and the days number of crop : 145 days; the food change rate (FCR) =1.47; the total revenue per total cost =1.52
