Initial results of field vacuum consolidation experiment for ground improvement in Long Thanh - Dau Giay highway project

Abstract

    Soft soil improvement by vacuum consolidation method has been applied worldwide and is studied currently in Vietnam Water Resources University. Moving on field experiment step, the project staff cooperated with production units in organizing full scale field experiment in order to identify efficient construction method for the Long Thanh - Dau Giay highway project. Changing studied object from small scale experiment in laboratory to full scale field experiment require a rational design for construction method with some small innovations in order to fit the theory with the particular construction site's conditions. The paper introduces schematically some main points in organizing field experiment and the analyzing on the initial tracking data.
