Forecasting the fluctuation of seabed and shoreline from the project "dredge and unfreeze marine flow at the Van Phong economic zone in the combination with maximum collecting salty sand for export”

Abstract

     The article studies on the fluctuation problem of the seabed and shoreline in the process of dredging and unfreezing marine flow at the Van Phong Economic Zone with the length of 12,28km. The hydrodynamic and sediment transport model was used to calculate through 7 sections. The results showed: the biggest erosion area under the natural conditions is about 300 meters from the shore; according to the designed plan of dredging, the risk of erosion and slope failure seems to be unlikely; the time required to recover the seabed corresponding to the time of the Northeast and Southwest monsoons is about 81,2 days and 122,2 days, respectively.
