Mix design roller compacted concrete using combined of the new generation superplasticizer retarding additives (S) + fly ash (T) + polymers (P): (S + T + P)
Abstract
The studying used a combination of the new generation Super-plasticizer retarding additives (S) + Fly ash (T) + Polymers (P): (S + T + P) to mix design Roller Compacted Concrete to guarantee the technical requirements of the RCC dams in Vietnam conditions: As the workability, setting time, compressive strength, water resistant and adiabatic temperature. The RCC design has achieved the compressive strength at 90 days of age from 30 to 47 MPa; Waterproof level from W12 to W14 at 90 days of age, equivalent permeability coefficient (Kth) about from (12,8 ÷ 4,6) ×10-10 cm/s; corresponding to the adiabatic temperature decrease about 12°C to compare with the original. In the design, it is necessary to combine P and S additive (to achieve the reasonable ratio of W/B) to increase the efficiency waterproofing of RCC.
