Abstract

In a water resources system, river flow is a factor with very high variation in both space and time. In addition, human demands for exploitation of water also change. This will lead to water surpluses or deficits vary between years, between upstream and downstream, and between water users. A mathematical model which was constructed in GAMS (General Algebraic Modeling System), has been applied for better understanding on water allocation ratio as effected by flow variation. Water allocated for users in the basin based on economic optimization criteria, also considering a number of constraints of natural, environmental and social conditions.
