Critical water head to stabilize open pit in confined aquifer foundation

Abstract

    The paper presents the methodology and experiment results of critical water head (hgh) to stabilize open pit foundation in confined Holocen aquifer (qh) in the Red River Delta. The correlations between the critical water head and thickness of soil layer in foundation structures (mp) have been formulated. The results will be a good reference to optimize the calculation and design of open pit foundation.
