Study on designing flood criteria for designing emergency spillway

Abstract

   Definition of a width for discharge of flood water is an essential problem when designing a flood discharge work. That width is depended in many factors including the designed flood criteria. Based on the fact of emergency spillway design experience in Vietnam, with the introduction of designed flood design some countries, in addition with analysis and reasoning, the study has recommended designed flood criteria for designing emergency spillway. The recommended criteria will be obviously tested in reality and be improved.
