Integrated Water Resources Management for the Kone River

Abstract

   Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM) for a river basin in general and for the Kone River and the Ba River in particular has become an urgent matter. This article points out the advantages and challenges in socioeconomic development of the studying area, and simultaneously, puts forward the objectives and tasks of IWRM. This article also mentions River Basin Organization (RBO), in which, the Kone and Adjacent River Basin should have only RBO at provincial level, while the Ba and Adjacent River Basin should have RBO at multiprovincial level. This article recommended to establish a RBO for the Ba and Adjacent River Basin including components as Council, IWRM Office, Implementation of Council s' tasks, Management of river basin, Information and expenditure sharing.
