Application of Mike basin to development of water resources allocation in Tra Khuc river basin

Abstract

     Tra Khuc river basin is the largest one in Quang Ngai Province with relatively abundant water resources and plays a significant role in socio-economic development of not only Quang Ngai but also the Central Region of Viet Nam. However, water resourse in downstream areas are being seriously degraded and exhausted. This paper presents some results from application of MIKE BASIN model to development of water resources allocation among water users and water uses in the river basin with a view to improve efficiency of water resources utilization and to step-by-step mitigate degradation and exhaustion of water resources in downstream of the river.
