High velocity flow associated with flood discharge spillway

Abstract

     In calculation for determination of spillway profile, the interesting subject for designer being considered is velocity flow in surface of spillway. In case of velocity are over 18m/s then aeration and cavitation phenomena may occur. The high velocity flow is not only causing cavitation but also making fluctuation of velocity field. The large fluctuation of velocity will make vibration in the structure of spillway. This article is to introduce some interested subject of high velocity flow associated with flood discharge spillway
