Basic and methodology of standard harmonization and measures for acceleration of standard harmonization process in the water sector

Abstract

     The research outputs on methodology of standard harmonization and measures for acceleration of standard harmonization process in the water sector are introduced. Evaluation of water sector's current standards showed that the percentage of harmonious standards is only 37%. In the context of international and regional integration, standard harmonization in water sector is a must. However, experiences in this type of work are limited, so appropriate methods for selection and harmonization of water sector's standards is important. Taking this in mid, priority and scope of harmonization, methods for evaluation and selection of standards for harmonization, methods for harmonization, and resources required for standard harmonization in the water sector are proposed.
