Analyzing rice price crisis by supply-demand model

Abstract

      Rice price crisis in early 2008 is a event having a global significance influences. In order to obtain appropriate solutions, it is necessary to gain some insights into nature of the global rice market with modern analytical economic tools. The content of the article introduces a method used by many economists in order to understand the essence of the market behaviour and to infer needed implications: it is supply-demand models and accompanying ecomometric models. Although it's still simple, but the authors hope that the model will provide with systematic knowledges about present global rice market to serve the first step to guide the rational decision making
