Analysis of seepage stability of an earthfill dam treated by grout curtains

Abstract

    This paper is dedicated to study the seepage through an earthfill dam on the pervious rock foundation treated by grout curtains. Seepage characteristics and groundwater flow are investigated, using numerical method and in-situ measurement performed by one-borehole tracer methods. Filtration velocities of groundwater flow are verified to evaluate the filtration stability of the dam. Parametric studies on the permeability of the grout curtain are investigated and it is also the most important factor that mainly effects on the seepage control and the dam's filtration stability.
