Proposed resolution on use of solid waste from shipyard, the thermal power plant, heavy industrial zones to ensure of environmental stability and sustainable

Abstract

     Vietnam, with more than 3000 km coastline with many islands and island system along the continental shelf is the potential for port projects, marine works or reclamation of coastal protection works for national security, territorial integrity protection in Vietnam

     Design and construction Technology of coastal projects are applied for massive concrete structures, modern technology as caisson structure of the kind will be widely applied and suitable for the Central Coast and South Central's Vietnam areas. Structure of caisson is casted, launched, placed at the position filled with material (with ≥ 1.6T/m3).Then the caissons will be covered by the concrete caps to ensure sustainable.

     However, in the projects mention above then materials placed in caissons is coat sand (with ≥ 2.0T/m3 ).This material is very good but its reserve be limited due to for devoting to build long-term infrastructure for the country later. The question is to find suitable materials what meet requirements in weight and inexpensive, saving natural materials ?

      At the major industrial zones being developed as Nghi Son Economic Zone, Vung Ang Economic Zone,,, there will have a huge amount of waste discharged and should be treated in the operation process (thermal power plants, steel mills, shipyards ...).
