Some proposed solutions for building mixed material dams in Dong Nai province

Abstract

    In recent years, construction of dam by using local materials for fill dams is common as well as cofferdams. Rock-earth fill dam has the more advantages compared with earth fill dam because they can be made of material from excavation of foundation and others in the body of dam. Up to now there is not research in Dong Nai to use this material for construction, so this material is still wasted. In Dong Nai each region has different geological structure, the natural soil with more than 20% of seeds (diameter> 2 mm) is available in the province area, if this is used in body of dam that leading to very economy. Based on requirement of physicalmechanical properties of material for dam construction this article will introduce solution for making dam with suitable soils, especially mixed soil at site and surrounding area at all.
